VINYL LETTERING FOR VEHICLES
Commercial Vehicle Graphics
are the most effective form of Advertising and are a relatively small
investment for the benefits gained, especially as most of the
time your vehicle is presented to your target customers.
If
you go to a sign maker for vehicle signage, you can expect to
pay
in the region of £200 to £600, for a transit van for example, and they
will normally require your van for at least one day, possibly
longer.
Ordering
from signKraft allows you
to do a bit at a time, saving you
'off the road' time as well as cost.
Not
to mention the personal satisfaction
you will get by doing it yourself !!

DESIGN TIPS FOR LETTERING
Remember that more often than not your
livery is being read whilst
your vehicle is in motion, so clear, readable text is
recommended.
You can also
use a
bolder and/or different font or a
different colour to highlight your name or name of the
business.
Vehicles are not always white, so choose
colours that will contrast well against the background
colour. If the vehicle is a dark colour, say dark blue,
and your corporate colour is blue then choose either a
lighter or darker blue and highlight your name with a
contrasting colour outline.
It is always better where possible
to contain your design within the panels of the vehicle,
using the left panel for your name and the right for a brief
description of your services.
This is not always possible, of course, but it does make the
application of the lettering easier.
You will need a sharp knife
(scalpel) to cut through the lettering
at door gaps and bodywork joins after application.
Also application is a bit more tricky when applying over
raised or recessed panel edges.
Telephone numbers work well when
separated, utilising the panel lower down. Remember, most
people would rather write your telephone number down from your
vehicle, than actually come and ask you for it!
LETTERING SIZE
It is a good idea to draw a rough
sketch of both sides, rear and front of the vehicle
filling in the panel sizes and available space sizes first,
then decide what text you want and where.
A good rule of thumb to calculate the area your lettering will
take up, is to multiply the height of the letter by
the number of letters in the line. This will give you the
approximate length of the line. Of course this varies, depending on
the font used, but don’t worry, when ordering, you should
give us the measurements of the space you want to mark up, and we will adjust accordingly.
GRAPHICS AND LOGO’S
We can reproduce
most graphics or logos
to your specified size
providing you can supply us with suitable artwork.
There will be a one off setup charge for this, depending on
the quality of artwork
and the complexity of the design. We will quote you separately
for this on receipt of artwork.
We will keep your design on file
for future reordering, thus avoiding this charge again.
Finally,
please visit our Help Page, where you
will find instructions on fitting your signs, and remember,
take your time and don't panic, and you will find that it is
relatively easy to do, fun and satisfying.
